Today’s the day for weird linguistic phenomena, then? I accidentally overheard, and was able to understand a conversation in Asgardian.

(And on that note: Anyone know Latin without learning it? The vending machine’s taking a detour into that, having moved on from Italian opera, and I’m not mysteriously fluent in that one. I left the room when the chorus of monks singing in Latin began emanating from the mysterious grape soda from another dimension. I won’t push my luck and fall into a horror movie.)

Bite into a snack, and you just might get some opera ringing in your brain on the high note. I've been keeping track of what it puts out, not just the mysterious singing. It's always been amazing.

But yes! That was most definitely Latin in there.

Beware anything Asgardian. We have found them to be flighty allies at best.

No real Asgardians here... today. That was me and Marie-Ange, we learned the language 20-some years ago, along with a few others and still like to use it sometimes.

No, no, it's still okay. It's very much okay. You couldn't have known about surprise fluency happening to my brain, and I definitely won't repeat anything I happened to hear, translated or not! Nope!

It was more shock and amazement (with amusement) that I could understand it at all, really.

Interesting. I thought something had just clicked in the learning process with Mandarin, but I just saw Maya and . . . another person signing to each other and understood the conversation.

Does that count?
