If anyone hears a strange, distant thumping, and thinks they’re having a Tell-Tale Heart moment, you’re okay. It is the (strangely adorable) steady beating of this heart that Korvus gave me after my birthday dinner, Indiana Jones style, from his jacket. It might be slightly muffled in my backpack if I carry it with me, but if it gets shaken, it’s what you'll hear. It's just that, and nothing spooky going on. I love it, Korvus, thank you again! That's definitely something nobody else would have ever thought to give me.

It’s going to be sitting next to the unicorn plush from my Secret Santa, on my shelf. The drink that came with that went in the fridge instead of diagonal to the unicorn, because nobody wants a flaming hot Red Bull in front of them when there’s an exam emergency.

I have not heard sappy before. May I ask what that adjective means?

Well it's sort like syrup. You know how people say someone is being sweet? Well sappy is sort of like sweet times 100 but usually with a side of being cheesy. Like you are being so sweet that it's kinda corny. A lot of the time people mean sappy to be picking on someone in a good natured way. But they aren't being really mean about it.

Um is this making sense?

Sappy is like way more sweet than guys are usually willing to be. Girls like when guys are sappy but other guys usually pick on them for it 'cause it's seen as not being masculine.

Maybe someone else should try to explain it.

Unfortunately I do not understand. I am now only hungry. That was a lot of food metaphor all at once.

Sorry! Sentimental, that's what I needed. Sappy is being like super sweet and sentimental. And usually a little bit lame. >.>
